Hazelhurst Stone Man

Inspected and passed as satisfactory

I parked at Stang Yule and went for a walk up to my Stone Man. (I call it mine because I resurrected it some time ago after it had been demolished either by a storm or by human hands). It was in about the same condition as when I rebuilt it last on 14 April - it doesn't seem that long ago!
It felt like home up there! I am so glad that I enjoy a hill walk so near to where I live. It was warm and comfortable in my heather-cushioned armchair, and I enjoyed a drink before making the cairn just a foot or so higher. I took several photos, experimenting with my camera on different settings.

The sky over the Fylde plain looked dark, but not with rain, and it grew a little chilly, so after visiting the viewpoint on the other side of the road I headed back down, using the old path which has become visible again away from the wall. It was very dry after the long weeks of no rain. I saw no evidence of the recent showers having affected the area, and the grass near the small wood below Stang Yule was like hay.
