'My' cairn |
Another walk, regrettably posted out of date order, from Stang Yule up over
past 'my' cairn, which I visited to re-acquaint myself with the two paths that lead directly to it. It is now clearly taller than when I rebuilt it
some years ago, so there are other walkers (or maybe the estate worker) who
like to see these structures maintained.

Sapplings to replace the former larches |
|
Stoat trap? |
The
path over to Fiendsdale Head is easy to follow although very slushy in places. The
relatively new cairn on Winny Bank is also larger, but I wonder if it is steady
enough to stand much longer without a partial collapse.

Cairn on Winny Bank - more stone added |
On
reaching the valley fields I was amazed by the large number of lambs this
spring - some ewes mothering two and even three!
|
So many lambs this spring! |
|
I like it here - comfy and plenty to eat! |
I
wish I could meet again the estate worker I have spoken to once or twice to ask about
the species of trees newly planted near Stag Yule but I haven't seen him for
quite a while.
