Hen Comb (1670')
Breakfast at the cafe and then to
Loweswater and up the slopes of Hen Comb. I went half-way while Andrew reached
the top to include it in his 214. On the descent I surprised myself by
fearlessly crossing the stepping stones over the beck without slipping!

It was warm, even with hardly any sun; but after eating lunch at the car it grew
cooler.
Darling Fell (left) and Low Fell (1352')
On then to
Thackthwaite, and up the winding drove road to Low Fell. An easy gradient, but
it felt like a slog, so I remained at the first zig-zag while Andrew carried
on. I noticed a path, very likely a sheep trod, which contoured over to the
base of Fellbarrow. I took it, finding it easy going (the sheep aren't stupid!) to
await Andrew just below Fellbarrow and we continued together to the summit.
Only two more to go now!
Summit of Fellbarrow
We must set off
tomorrow so Andrew can climb Raven Crag above Thirlmere and then Walla Crag
above Derwentwater to complete his Wainwrights!
