A
drizzly day, but not cold. James and
Nigel arrived in the latter's car around 10:15. After a long chat catching up on news we set off
for the Lakes.
We drove to a car park they had used before on the Coniston road
from Langdale, where it was £6.50 to park. We made a circuit of Tarn Hows, and had lunch overlooking the lake. But
their plan of walking as far as Hawskhead didn't come about because it was
late, and they couldn't quite recall the route they'd used before.
Still, it was a pleasant stroll and good company and very kind of them to call and take me out for the day.
On our return to Preston I booked a
table at The Windmill and we had a good meal.
