Andrew called for me at midday and we had an enjoyable walk from Grizedale Bridge through Holme Wood, and up on to Nicky Nook, where we met some girls, one of whom was standing on the trig column! Then it was down to the road and after a short walk to Slean End we started up the path and stopped for a snack at what appears to have been a weir, now in ruins. There was some weak sunshine towards the end of the afternoon as we returned to the car at Grizedale Bridge.
