Glorious blue sky and sunshine but
rather breezy and cool. I set off to Stang Yule late morning and thence up on the track over the fell above Fellside Plantation.

The route from Stang Yule from
Hazelhurst Fell track |
The wind from the north was very strong and cold. I couldn’t find
anywhere to shelter to eat my lunch so pressed on to the grouse butts and there
found some respite from the wind.

It was warmer in the grouse butt out of the wind! |

I
did this walk because I want to keep up my stamina, having had two recent sorties
where I have felt utterly spent. I had on my soft boots and walking was easy,
there being no steep ground to descend. From the grouse butt I dropped down to the intake wall below
Winny Bank and sat for a while, again blessedly out of the wind and enjoying the sun.
The
walk back, during which I bought six eggs from the Tower, I found easy, and no
tiredness at home, so those Ginseng tablets are beginning to work (I think).
