Bleasdale Scenes Sun 20 Oct 2019

You can find an index to my other walks here

Sun was forecast for this morning, especially around the area of Bleasdale, but it took longer to arrive than forecast. However, I walked up to the cairn above Oakenlough. The gentle breeze from the north was cold. The viewpoint on the Bleasdale side of the fell over to Fairsnape and Parlick, and Beacon Fell still proved worth a visit.
I was surprised to find the path through the heather from the grouse road was almost hidden by the increased growth, but I arrived at the cairn alright, to find that the top small stones had come off. I replaced them - but they are not fast.
It was quite comfortable, as usual, in the heather to sit and relax with some hot, sweet coffee and I remained there for maybe half an hour. I then started back, having enjoyed a short outing as planned.
